2017 Grand National Roadster Show Photo Highlights

The 2017 winner of the AMBR Award was this 1936 Packard Roadster built by the team at Hollywood Hot Rods.
The Grand National Roadster Show took place in Pomona, Ca last weekend and it attracted 1,000s of classic car enthusiasts to Southern California. This annual event is now in its 68th year and didn't show any signs of slowing down. The Pomona Fairplex was packed on Saturday with enthusiasts who couldn't wait to see the contenders for the America'a Most Beautiful Roadster Award.

The California Car Cover Crew was on hand all weekend talking car care and of course, taking photos of the incredible vehicles on display.

A few more of the competitors for the AMBR Trophy are shown above. A killer roadster pickup from Goolsby Customs and a signature Rick Dore coachbuilt roadster.

Our friends from Brizio Street Rods always bring some cool hot rods to the Grand National Roadster Show.

The Suede Palace is home to some of the finest traditional rods and customs at the event. Here are some photos of just a few of them.

One of the most popular exhibits at the show was the Tr-Five building to celebrate 60 years of the 1957 Chevrolet. If you love the 1955-57 bowties, this was the place to be.

Plenty of vintage race cars and dragsters were on display too.

Custom paint on a few Chevy lowriders in another building.

Our friends at SIC Chops brought our their custom Suburban that was turning heads at SEMA back in November.

In building 4 were all the contenders for the AMBR Trophy. The builders all took different approaches to their roadsters and it shows here. All the roadsters were incrediblly detailed and well built.

3rd Annual Street Machine & Muscle Car Nationals in Pomona, Ca

One of the contestants in the popular burnout contest at the Street Machine Nationals.

The 3rd Annual O'Reilly Street Machine Nationals took place at the Pomona Fairplex over the weekend. The show attracts 100's of muscle cars and hot rods to Pomona for a two day car show, auto cross and burnout festival.

Not just a traditional show and shine, the Street Machine Nationals wants people to drive their vehicles. There is a designated cruise lane through the fairgrounds, plus an auto cross, dyno tests, stopping test and daily burnout contest.

Here are some photos courtesy of California Car Cover from the car show over the weekend.

A sunny and warm weekend helped bring out the classics to the Pomona Fairplex.

The Builder's Pavilion housed a number of hot rod vendors, plus a group of invited muscle car builders.

Plenty of super charged engines were on display at the Street Machine Nationals.

O'Reilly Auto Parts Street Machine & Muscle Car Nationals in Pomona, Ca

Clean 1956 Chevy

On Saturday, I went out to Pomona, Ca for first O'Reilly Street Machine and Muscle Car Nationals held at the Fairplex. The show attracted hundreds of muscle cars and some hot rods to the Fairplex for two days of  auto-crossing, showcasing and dyno testing. Here are some photo highlights from Saturday morning at the show.

Slim's Fabrication had their chopped rear engine Chevy van on display.

Killer Pontiac wagon at the show.

Stacks on a Palmer Customs 1955 Chevy.

Very nice Cadillac convertible that was cruising around the Fairplex all Saturday.

Custom Corvair

The Dyno Jet dyno test was a popular booth all day. Car owners were allowed to put their cars to the test and see how much hp actually got to the wheels. There was a line of new and classic cars there all day.

A few of the many old school Gassers at the show.

Nice Chevy Chevelle.

A clean Cadillac taking a cruise around the property.

Once the sun came out, there were plenty of people and cars all over the Fairplex.

Our friends out at Timeless Kustoms did plenty of work on this Chevy Chevelle. It has sport tuned suspension and a Corvette engine under the hood.

Inside the main hall were a number of professional car builders displaying their custom muscle cars and hot rods.

The Auto Cross was a popular attraction for owners of classics and new cars. Car owners were able to test their driving skills and vehicle performance on two laps around the road course. There was everything from new Camaros, classic trucks and even a late model Lincoln Town Car taking laps on the track.

Check back in the coming weeks for more event coverage courtesy of California Car Cover. We will be attending the Good Guys Car Show in Del Mar, Mopar Spring Fling and many other car shows on the West Coast.
