Media Day at the 2015 LA Auto Show

Lamborghini Miura on display at the Motor Press Guild Motoring Invitational that kicked off the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Wednesday was the media day for the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show. The day is highlighted by new vehicles debuts each hour throughout the halls of the Los Angeles Convention Center. All the of major auto makers showcase their latest and greatest for automobile industry media and executives. I have enjoyed attending the event on behalf of California Car Cover for the past few years, so here are some highlights from this morning.

The MPG Motoring Invitational Breakfast featured a large exhibit of vintage Alfa Romeo vehicles that led up to the unveiling of the new Alfa Romeo Giulia.

Patiently waiting for the first unveiling of the day at the Alfa Romeo tent.

Local street artist painted Nissan vehicles during the breakfast.

Lincoln continues its rebranding and vehicle upgrades with the latest edition of the Lincoln MKZ.

Porsche takes over Petree Hall at the Los Angeles Convention Center each year with an amazing display of vintage, racing and brand new Porsche vehicles. The classic Targa was parked along side the new Targa 4S for its debut.

"I'm in the Buick." Buick continues to impress with its vehicle updates and modifications so their large sedans and crossovers are a nice option for any consumer.

Oh, yeah. The wheels on a 2016 Cadillac CTS-V.

Our Favorite Vehicles from the 2015 SEMA Show

140,000 of our closest friends all descended on Las Vegas for the annual SEMA Show last week. The California Car Cover Crew was on hand to find new products and meet new customers. Here are some of our highlights from SEMA 2015.

A huge unveiling kicked off the show on Tuesday morning. An All-Star unveiling at the Flowmaster booth featured builds by Tim Strange, Rad Rides by Troy and the Ringbrothers. A large crowd gathered to see the debuts of a few amazing vehicles. We were of course glad that they chose California Car Covers to keep them under wraps until the reveal.

Our friends at Johnsons Hot Rod Shop also unveiled a custom Studebaker on Tuesday afternoon.

Chris Carlson at Carlson Hot Rods debuted a custom Buick at the NAPA booth on Tuesday afternoon as well.

Wednesday brought some wet weather to the SEMA Show. Fortunately, most of our plans for Wednesday were inside since there is a lot of ground to cover in just four days.

Glad to see many of our friends put our custom fit California Car Covers to good use with the rainy conditions throughout the day.

Another big unveiling with the Ringbrothers got us started on Day #2 at the SEMA Show. Their latest all carbon fiber wide body kit attracted a lot of attention for Ford Mustang and performance enthusiasts alike.

The sun was out on Thursday and so were the crowds. 1,000s of people took over the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Trust us. There is a Ford Mustang out there somewhere.

There were 100's of custom vehicles to look at during SEMA 2015. We could not see all of them, but we tried to take photos of a few of our favorites. Here are some photos from the show.

Custom Lincoln.

Buick.

Ford Coupe in the Ford booth.

A custom stroller from our friends at Engle Bros Fabrication.

There were a lot of square body Chevy trucks at the show and this was one of the nicest ones.

Finely restored 1948 Royal Trailer.

Thank you to many of our great cover customers and partners. Glad we could be part of some amazing projects and debuts at the SEMA Show.

That's a wrap! We will back in 2016.

2014 Los Angeles Auto Show Press & Trade Day Photos

The LA Auto Show kicked off with the annual Motor Press Guild Invitational. This "cars & coffee" event features breakfast, live music, cool cars and the presentation of the MPG "Innovation Vehicle of the Year" Award.

Wednesday morning was the first press & trade day at the Los Angeles Auto Show in downtown Los Angeles. For the next week and a half, the Los Angeles Convention Center will be all about new cars and trucks.

Bright and early on Wednesday morning was the MPG Invitational Awards breakfast. Local food trucks serve up breakfast for automotive media and trade personnel while everyone checks out notable custom cars, race cars and new vehicles.  This kickoff event always attracts a who's-who in the local automobile scene.

Famed car builder George Barris was on hand to talk car customization.

Take your pick: Local Porsche builders Magnus Walker and Singer Design showed off some of their craftsmanship underneath the MPG tent.

Audi kicked off the press day with the first unveiling at 9am.

Cadillac unveiled the V-Series models of its popular ATS coupe and sedan vehicles. The performance specs on the monitor are just a few of the reasons that the ATS unveiling drew so much attention.

Actor and race car driver, Patrick Dempsey, was on hand for the unveiling of the GTS, plus announced his Porsche racing schedule for 2015.

Porsche unveiled their latest GTS models, including the latest version of the 911 Carrera GTS.
Thank you to everyone at the Los Angeles Auto Show for the hospitality. The auto manufacturers and vendors were all gracious and accommodating. The Auto Show runs from November 21-30 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
