Fastivus 2015 at Auto Club Speedway

Southern California Volkswagen enthusiasts all converged on Auto Club Speedway this Saturday for Fastivus. The event features a track day, auto cross, car show and world famous raffle all targeted to VW owners and fans. California Car Cover was again an event supporter, so I spent some time at the speedway on Saturday with friends.

Galpin VW was one of the featured sponsors for the show, so they brought out some new and classic VWs.

Besides taking laps around Auto Club Speedway, attendees were allowed to test their skills on the auto cross.

There were even a few VWs classics on display.

One of the highlights of the day was a drifting demonstration by Tanner Foust in his Volkswagen Passat.

If you love Volkswagen and haven't been to Fastivus yet, you should put it on your calendar. Fastivus attracted over 1,600 people to the speedway which was quite an increase over last year. The show features the world famous raffle where they giveaway over $54,000 in prizes to attendees who drive their VW to the show.

Big thanks to Eugene and everyone involved with Fastivus. Glad that California Car Cover could be part of a great event yet again. Hopefully next year, I will be in good enough shape to tackle the Tour de Fastivus.

Volkswagen Fastivus 2014 at Willow Springs Raceway

It sure was windy, but that didn't stop these VW owners.

This Memorial Day weekend, Fastivus took over the Willow Springs International Raceway in Rosamond, Ca. This event is geared towards the Volkswagen enthusiasts. Fastivus features a Show & Shine, track events and many other activities to promote the love of VW vehicles.

California Car Cover was an event supporter for the 2nd straight year, so the CCC Crew headed out to the Show & Shine on Saturday to see our colleagues at the track.

Our friends at eco-shine & dubNation were on hand to talk car care and accessories with the VW owners.

The event is sponsored by a number of premium aftermarket companies, like APR, Accu Air and Galpin Volkswagen. Volkswagen of America even sent out executives to the show to talk to attendees and showcase some of their latest vehicles.

One of the cool events on Saturday afternoon. Everyone at the show was able to participate in the group photo whether they have a Volkswagen or not. A few hundred cars packed the front straightaway at Willow Springs for a huge group photo.

The big draw of the weekend is the World Famous Raffle on Saturday. All event sponsors contributed a fantastic prize to the drawing. Volkswagen owners are only allowed (1) raffle ticket, so they pick wisely and hope for some good luck.

Thanks again for the hospitality from everyone at Fastivus. It was a little windy, but the California Car Cover Crew still had a good time with friends and colleagues.
