Our 2017 Father's Day Catalog Photo Shoot with Gary and Brian Almas

Sharing The Love: Our annual Father's Day is always about sharing the love of cars and this year is no different. Our marketing team was flipping through a recent Mecum Auctions Magazine and read a great story about a father and son purchasing cars at an auction. We soon found out that Gary and Brian Almas were customers of our company and knew we had the right guys for our Father's Day California Car Cover photo shoot.

The father, Gary, has a few classic cars in his garage. The 1939 Ford features Billet Specialties wheels, Fatman Fabrications suspension, and two-tone Dupont Hot Hues paint.

Under the hood of the '39 is a GM 454/425 hp crate engine. An Erickson T-5 transmission runs through the gears.

The son, Brian, has a clean 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS that he takes out to weekly cruise nights and weekend car shows. The Chevelle looks all original, but has plenty of performance upgrades. The Chevelle has a Tremec 5-speed transmission and Hotchis suspension with plenty of power under the hood.

Under the hood is a Edelbrock Pat Musi 555 engine.

The "Lomad" is Gary's 1956 Chevrolet Nomad. This custom Nomad is finished in red and silver paint. It has full leather interior and a Kicker Audio stereo system. The Chevy was built on an Art Morrison chassis.

The Lomad features a Chevrolet Corvette S driveline and 4L60E transmission.

17th Annual Canoga Park Dia de los Muertos Festival and Car Show 2016

Last Sunday was the annual Canoga Park Street Fair to celebrate Dia de los Muertos. The festival features a large family festival, food vendors, performances and a classic car show. When possible I enjoy cruising over to this event to see what kind of customs and lowriders show up to take over Sherman Way for a few hours.

Shermany Way is filled with row after row of classic Chevys and customs. It was a beautiful day for a car show in Southern California.

This show always brings out some incredible paint schemes and metal work on these classics.

August 2015 Pomona Swap Meet Coverage

Sunday morning, one of the California Car Cover Crew teams was at the Pomona Fairplex bright and early for the Pomona Swap Meet. We also had a crew at the NSRA Street Rod Nationals in Louisville, KY, so our associates were pretty busy all weekend.

There was another large crowd at the Pomona Swap Meet this month. Here are a few photos and highlights from Sunday.

Shop-Vac was our featured vendor at the August Pomona Swap Meet. We brought out some cool vacs and blowers to demonstrate for customers.

What makes the Pomona Swap Meet so popular is that you can find a finished car up for sale or the right parts to finally finish your project vehicle.

June 2015 Pomona Swap Meet Photos

The June 2015 Pomona Swap Meet took place this past Sunday and the California Car Cover team was there as usual. We always look forward to seeing our friends at customers at the Fairplex. Here are a few photos of some cool classics we saw driving by the California Car Cover booth.

Always a nice crowd at the swap meet when the weather is nice.

ICON BR Series Bronco & Thriftmaster from our April 2014 Catalog

The April California Car Cover catalog featured the custom trucks from ICON. ICON, one of our local customers, builds classic cars and trucks with modern conveniences. I have been a huge fan of their BR Series Broncos since I first saw them. When I saw the Chevy Thriftmaster at this year's SEMA Show I knew it was about time we had them both over for a photo shoot.

The BR Series is a fresh take on the classic Ford Bronco. Though the Bronco might just like a matte grey painted Bronco from afar, underneath the BR utilizes modern technology and design for improve driving and performance.

ICON designed many of the pieces found on the BR Series. From the bull bar and side mirrors to the taillight guards and front grille, they were are designed by the ICON team.

The interior looks good, but is also functional for the serious off road enthusiast. The floor has a polyurethane coating and features drainage holes for easy cleaning. ICON also offers interior upgrades and seating packages.

Under the hood, the BR is powered by a 412 hp 5.0L Ford Coyote engine. The truck is available with a manual transmission or optional automatic.

The 1950 Chevy Thriftmaster Pickup takes current styling cues and blends them with a tradition classic truck. Like the BR Series, from a distance the Chevy appears to be a pretty standard pickup with a matte paint job and disc wheels. Upon closer examination, you can see the subtle touches that ICON added to the TR Series.

The body panels of the Chevy truck are stock, but ICON added custom trim pieces to the entire vehicle. You'll notice the custom emblems and the custom finish grille and bumpers.

The custom interior features an Audison entertainment system, dashboard with automated door, Wi-Fi hotspot and much more.

The Thriftmaster is powered by a GM E-Rod engine with a 440 hp and a Magnuson supercharger.

The truck is finished in a grey-brown matter paint.
