Valley Relics Museum's Grand Opening Party in Chatsworth

The Valley Relics Museum opened up around the corner from California Car Cover this past Saturday. The grand opening party featured a car show, live music and the first chance to check out its collection of San Fernando Valley heritage. The party kicked off at 1230pm, so once I wrapped up our car show I cruised over there.

The Valley Relics Museum contains a lot of history on the San Fernando Valley. Everything that has made the valley what it is, is on display at the museum. Plenty of vintage maps and photos of the changing SFV landscape, plus signs from popular stores and restaurants of the past.

The vehicles of valley western wear legend, Nudie, are on display front and center. You can't miss the pistol and rifle adorned vehicles.

A collection of vintage BMX bikes

Vintage class photos and memorabilia from valley high schools.

Historic postcards

The collection of restaurant signs was probably my favorite part of the place. I remembered many of the restaurants and bars since I have grown up in the valley as well.

There is a room full of western wear and movie memorabilia. Since so many westerns were shot in the valley and many actors called the valley home, it showcases many of the popular movie posters, celebrity photos and much more.

Local bar and restaurant matchbooks.

Big thanks to everyone at the Valley Relics Museum for the hospitality. The museum will be open on Saturdays, so anytime you are in Chatsworth be sure to check it out. Of course, we wouldn't might if you made a stop at California Car Cover too while you are out this way.
