On the Road with Tony DeFrank 2012

Go on the road with Tony DeFrank in 2012.

California Car Cover Uncovered is going on the road with Tony DeFrank in 2012. Tony, the Executive Director at California Car Cover, will be attending a host of automotive events across the country this year. "Two of my biggest loves are classic cars and traveling," said Tony. "This gives me the opportunity to combine them both and share cool photos and funny notes from all over the country."

Tony will be visiting car shows and events all over the United States. It is going to be a fun and exciting year and he will be detailing the adventures here on the official blog of California Car Cover.

"When I am not on the road I will be at the office or my garage working on product reviews, special events, social media and new product development. Keep checking back as each month as I am going to bring interesting, informative and occasionally funny news and notes to fellow auto enthusiasts."

Though more car shows will be added in the future, Tony is already scheduled to attend events in Arizona, Michigan, Texas and all along the California coast.

The blog will continue to include helpful tips and advice for the car lovers, plus plenty of reviews and product write ups. Additionally you can stay connected with Tony by following him on Twitter @calcarcover or on the company's Facebook page.

We Can Cover It All

Our customers have vehicles or all shapes and sizes. Not only does California Car Cover stock 100's of the top patterns, but we can also make a custom one-off cover for your car, truck, SUV or even trailer. Here are a few project we assisted local customers with lately.
A local customer needed a custom cover to protect his vintage trailer this winter. A universal fit cover wouldn't cut it, so California Car Cover helped him measure and fit a cover so the fit and protection is optimal.
The cover has the same double stitched seams and reinforced grommets found on all our customer covers.
The trailer cover looks great and will protect its finish for years to come. Just don't use such a cover while towing.

Another one of our customers in the bay area needed a custom cover for a hot rod pickup hauler. Because of the unique cab and bed, we have to create a custom pattern to make sure the cover fit right and did its job.

Mooneyes X-Mas Party Car Show & Drag Race

We have been selling Mooneyes apparel in our catalog since we started and this past weekend was the first time we had attended their annual Christmas party and car show. The event was held at Irwindale Speedway and the place was packed with cars and people. California Car Cover was on hand to talk car covers and car care with attendees. Here are some photos in case you missed it.

It was a pretty chilly morning at the speedway. There was still a huge line of vehicle waiting to get in at 6am. Once the sun came out even more people showed up to check out the race cars and show cars.

There were plenty of cars on display for anyone that loves classic cars, vintage drag racing or customs.

The stands were packed for the morning and afternoon drag sessions.

Throughout the day there were some great bands on hand to entertain the crowd.
And in the afternoon the stage played host to the annual pinup contest.
I had a lot of fun at the event and California Car Cover looks forward to being back there again next year. For all the photos from the show, please visit our Flickr Car Show Page. For more info on California Car Cover, check us out on Facebook or our main website.

Pomona Swap Meet and Motor 4 Toys Car Show

It was another early start this past Sunday. California Car Cover was on display at two car shows on the same day in the Los Angeles area and I attended both of them. First off, was the So Cal tradition, the Pomona Swap Meet. We set up there pretty early and despite the cold weather it was a good turn out once the cold weather went away.
A few classic Chevy covered up in some California Car Cover Plushweave car covers.
At the Pomona Swap Meet, California Car Cover has its trade show truck to show customers our custom car covers and Golden Shine Car Care Products. On the right is our sale booth, which displays a lot of seasonal or discontinued merchandise. It is a great place to pick up a deal.
Besides the 100's of swap meet vendors, the parking lots are filled with classic cars for sale. Right across the road from us is the parking lot with street rods and classic cars on display.

This picture came out really nice. The sun is rising in front of rows of classic cars.

Having a booth right on the main road through the swap meet has its perks. You get to see a lot of unique and interesting automobiles on their way to park.

You'll find just about anything in the swap meet.

After a half day at the Pomona Swap Meet I had to drive back to the San Fernando Valley for the charity Motor 4 Toys Car Show in Woodland Hills, Ca. It was a large event that drew a lot of cars for a great cause. The car show is in its 8th year and this year California Car Cover was one of the sponsors.
The California Car Cover and Golden Shine booth. Special thanks to Bernie at Dub-Nation for letting us cover his VW in our booth.
The show had plenty of luxury cars and exotics on display. It was definitely a different crowd than at the Pomona Swap Meet, but it was nice to meet new people and talk to customers.

There were groups of car clubs on display from all over Southern California. There was a nice variety of newer cars and classics.

The parking lots surrounding the Anthem Blue Cross building were packed all morning.

Special thanks goes out to The Auto Gallery in Woodland Hills for being the presenting sponsor of the event. They brought out a fleet of luxury automobiles. I am glad that California Car Cover could be part of such a great event as well.
