I cruised down to San Diego on Saturday to meet up with some customers and attend the Coronado Speed Fest. Being a big baseball fan I was excited that the Dodgers were in town so I went over to Petco Park to check out a game on Saturday night.
Sunday morning it was off to Coronado. The annual Speed Fest draws a lot of people to the naval base. For a weekend the runways are turned into race tracks and all sorts of race cars take turns on the track.
Besides racing all day on Saturday and Sunday, the event also hosts a daily car show. There were a variety of classic and sports cars on hand from a variety of local clubs.
Even though it was overcast, a large crowd still came out in support of Speed Fest.
Local Porsche club.
Corvette vs Mustang.
British automobiles.
Camaro on the racetrack.
While walking through the pits I came across a California Car Cover. I was excited to see one of our custom covers on a historic Nascar.
Above is the Bobby Labonte Interstate Battery Nascar. It is owned and driven by a co-worker, Russ, who works at our sister company, California Car Duster.
Spotted in the pits.
Engine build competition.
Besides all the four wheel performance vehicles on the property, there were quite a few air crafts on display. It was pretty cool to get up close to some serious machines.
Parachute jumpers were on hand to start the day of racing.
On the way out of town I had to stop by the Hotel Del Coronado and check it out. It has been there since 1888.
