Something for Everyone at Barrett-Jackson

The Barrett-Jackson auction is Scottsdale, AZ is in full swing this week. For the first time in a number of years the California Car Cover crew is on hand selling custom fit car covers and demonstrating its Golden Shine car care products.

One of the great things about the Barrett-Jackson auction is the variety of merchandise that is on display. I always look forward to seeing what original neon signs will be on display each year.

Haven't been to Barrett-Jackson yet? The Scottsdale event is their marquee auction and is worth the trip to every auto enthusiast. Even if you are not looking to buy or sell a classic car, the auction has a great collection of vendors, sights and activities to keep you busy.
The hot spot at the auction this year in the Tilted Kilt Garage. This bar and restaurant is an Irish pub themed sports bar that staffs and attractive and personable group of women. Find the Tilted Kilt near you online.

Plenty of classic are on display indoor and out. Many of the vehicles that will be going on the block this Friday and Saturday night are stored indoors. Many vehicles owned by celebrities or seen in movies will be up for sale.

On the block...

Tired of all the walking around at the show? Take a seat at one of the massaging chair displays. There is a chance you would fall asleep too.

Row after row of vendors are displaying their products. Besides the large displays from Ford and GM, you will see all kinds of items, from fishing trips and jewelry, to custom garage cabinets and slot machines.

Tent after tent of classics waiting to be sold this week.
Planes, boats, wagons, and more.

Have the need for speed? You can sign up for a ride along with a skilled driver in a Corvette or take a more casual spin around the auto cross.

Hot Rides by Dean's 2011 Chevy Camaro

This 2011 Chevy Camaro was featured on one of the January 2011 California Car Cover catalog covers. The striking black-white Camaro was customized by the crew at Hot Rides by Dean in Moorpark, Ca.

The Camaro features 22" Billet Specialties wheels, Hotchkis suspension components, painted ground effects and Nitto tires. More information on Dean's shop can be found on Facebook.
To improve the perfomance, Dean's shop added a Magnacharger supercharger, Corsa exhaust and Baer brakes. Below is an example of how one of our Stormweave material car covers looks on the new Chevy Camaro.
Want to see more Camaro photos? Check out the highlights from our 2012 Chevy Camaro show. It attracted quite a few Gen5 Chevy Camaro vehicles.

CCC Gives Back

We have a lot of fun working at California Car Cover and the holidays let us have a chance to give back to the community. November means Thanksgiving is near and Christmas is just around the corner. It also means that it is officially, Movember. Movember is a charity has been around since 2003. It raises awareness on prostate cancer and proudly supports the LIVESTRONG Foundation and the Prostate Cancer Foundation. You can find out more about the organization on their website: http://www.movember.com.
California Car Cover has been a supporter of the cause since last year. Basically, men try to raise awareness, and funds, by growing a moustache all month long. This year, quite a few sales associates are growing 'staches in support. If you would like to make a donation or see some photos, check out our CCC Movember page:
http://us.movember.com/mospace/510557/

In fact, anyone that makes over a $5 donation will receive some Golden Shine decals and a limited edition Moustache Key Chain constructed of car cover fabric. California Car Cover is going to match any funds raised during the month of November.
California Car Cover is also a proud supporter of Friends & Helpers, a local charity that assists victims of domestic violence. We will be hosting a toy drive for the organization through December 3rd to collect toys for the children in families affected by abuse. Anyone that donates a toy will receive a 4 oz. sample bottle of our popular Golden Shine Quick Shine Detail Spray.

One Sunday, Two Shows

One Sunday, Two Shows
Sunday, September 26th, 2010

The California Car Cover sales crew was covering the San Fernando Valley this past Sunday. First thing on Sunday morning, we set up shop at the latest installment of Super Car Sunday. The featured makes for this show were the Shelby Cobra and Dodge Viper. Plenty of each were on hand.

SCS always attracts a wide range of classic or exotic automobiles from all over Los Angeles. The show only runs from 6a-10a so you have to get there early to see everything before they drive off.

See the Super Car Sunday website for more details and the next event date at www.supercarsunday.com
While SCS was wrapping up, our other crew was gearing up at DMP Fasteners Open House in Chatsworth, Ca. The event drew many local customers of DMP and even California Car Cover. There were plenty of familiar faces and autos at the show.

Plenty of unique cars, a local rock n' roll band and an In N' Out Burger truck kept the crowd happy for a few hours even though it was pretty hot.

Labor Day Cruisin'

Over the Labor Day weekend, the Orange County Cruise takes place in Costa Mesa, Ca. California Car Cover has been a vendor there for many years. I decided to swing by the show on Sunday and take a few photos of some of the cool cars in attendance.

This truck and trailer combo is at the event every year. It is something else to see.
A nice convertible Cadillac.

Red was a popular paint color at the show.
I am a big fan of Chevy II's, no matter the condition.

After the show, I decided to drive over to Newport and cruise my beach cruiser around Balboa. Leaving the Balboa Ferry stop, I spotted this classic wagon. After walking around the wagon I noticed a few California Car Covers in the garage.
I talked to the car owner for a few minutes and found out he has quite a car collection, all of which are covered with our car covers.
Both being fans of classic GM vehicles, we talked cars for a few minutes before I got on the road and let him get back to work. I always enjoy seeing our CCC logo when I am out of the office.
