Hot Rod & Restoration Trade Show in Indianapolis

The annual Hot Rod & Restoration Trade Show took place this week in Indianapolis. I had not been to the event before, but since a few of California Car Cover's customers were going to be there, I figured I would take a few days to see the event. The show was held at the Indiana Convention Center in downtown.

The main entrance

The show featured a number of hot rod performance and accessory companies, plus plenty of hot rods and muscle cars. It was nice to see some classic cars from the Midwest.

Clean 1969 Pontiac Firebird by Zinger Customs

There were plenty of muscle cars on display.

Very clean Ford Bronco restoration

Probably my favorite car at the show was this 1939 Chevy Coupe. It was converted to a 3 window, had a 348 engine under the hood and custom interior.

Anyone have a General Motors Beaumont in the garage? The 1969 Beaumont was based on the Chevy Chevelle and sold as a General Motors vehicle in Canada.

The show was not a huge event, but I enjoyed visiting with customers and suppliers. Check back next week for coverage from more car shows and California Car Cover updates.

O'Reilly Auto Parts Street Machine & Muscle Car Nationals in Pomona, Ca

Clean 1956 Chevy

On Saturday, I went out to Pomona, Ca for first O'Reilly Street Machine and Muscle Car Nationals held at the Fairplex. The show attracted hundreds of muscle cars and some hot rods to the Fairplex for two days of  auto-crossing, showcasing and dyno testing. Here are some photo highlights from Saturday morning at the show.

Slim's Fabrication had their chopped rear engine Chevy van on display.

Killer Pontiac wagon at the show.

Stacks on a Palmer Customs 1955 Chevy.

Very nice Cadillac convertible that was cruising around the Fairplex all Saturday.

Custom Corvair

The Dyno Jet dyno test was a popular booth all day. Car owners were allowed to put their cars to the test and see how much hp actually got to the wheels. There was a line of new and classic cars there all day.

A few of the many old school Gassers at the show.

Nice Chevy Chevelle.

A clean Cadillac taking a cruise around the property.

Once the sun came out, there were plenty of people and cars all over the Fairplex.

Our friends out at Timeless Kustoms did plenty of work on this Chevy Chevelle. It has sport tuned suspension and a Corvette engine under the hood.

Inside the main hall were a number of professional car builders displaying their custom muscle cars and hot rods.

The Auto Cross was a popular attraction for owners of classics and new cars. Car owners were able to test their driving skills and vehicle performance on two laps around the road course. There was everything from new Camaros, classic trucks and even a late model Lincoln Town Car taking laps on the track.

Check back in the coming weeks for more event coverage courtesy of California Car Cover. We will be attending the Good Guys Car Show in Del Mar, Mopar Spring Fling and many other car shows on the West Coast.
