2013 Father's Day Photo Shoot at Canepa Design

For our annual Father's Day photo shoot, my photographer and I headed up to Canepa Design in Scott's Valley, Ca. Bruce Canepa, the company's founder, has been a customer of California Car Cover since we started in 1989. We met Bruce, and his son Michael, at the facility for a photo shoot and personal tour of the company's headquarters.

 The first stop on our tour was the museum. The museum has an incredible collection of historic racing automobiles. Bruce is an avid auto enthusiast, designer and renowned driver. Bruce has driven open wheel sports cars, sprint cars, LeMans vehicles, and even semi trucks. He still holds the Pikes Peak Hill Climb record in which he drove a Kenworth big rig up the mountain. The museum collection features many noteworthy vehicles in the history of motorsports, plus cars that Bruce has personally driven at racing events around the country. You might recognized some of the legendary cars on display.

After the museum tour, Bruce took us down to the showroom floor. Canepa Design features a large inventory of classic cars, exotics and race cars that are available for sale.

 Canepa Design restores and repairs many desirable European cars, like the Porsche 959. At any given time there are a few of the ultra rare Porsche at Canepa undergoing a restoration.

 After viewing all the amazing cars, it was time to tour the restoration facility. I found the warehouse to be the most impressive part of out trip. The warehouse is immaculate and well organized.

Race Car Restoration and Repair Center

 Canepa Design handles all steps in the restoration process except engines. All the body and paint work is completed at the facility. It was an incredible display of Porsche and Mercedes vehicles in all steps of completion.
