This past Saturday I headed out to the Roadshow Revival, an annual tribute to the life and music of Johnny Cash. The show is held at the Ventura Fairgrounds, so I cruised up the 101 on Saturday morning to check out the event. There was a line forming well before the gates opened to the public.
How can you go wrong with a day of classic cars and the music of Johnny Cash? I am a big Johnny Cash fan so it was cool to hear his music from a variety of bands. The event attracts Johnny Cash cover bands from all over the world and featured plenty of cars from the Ventura area on display.
The Johnnys are an all girl Johnny Cash cover band from New Zealand.
The show had a nice mix of classic cars and motorcycles parked around the fairgrounds. Plus there was a vendor exhibition area with a nice mix of local artists and vintage goods sellers.
The pinup pageant was one of the main attractions during the day. There were 50 girls on hand vying for the 1st place prize. They spent a good portion of the morning walking around campaigning for votes from attendees.
J.R. Black is from France and performing classic Johnny Cash songs in French. It was a fun day out in Ventura. Check out California Car Cover on Facebook or our main website to see where I will be at in the coming weeks.
Don't forget to stop back to the blog next week where I will have some photos and highlights from the Back to the 50's Car Show in St. Paul, Minnesota.
