Born Free 8 Motorcycle Show 2016

Last weekend was the popular 2016 Born Free Motorcycle Show at Oak Canyon Ranch in Silverado, Ca. Bron Free 8, or BF8, was yet again a huge two day event that brought together 1,000s of custom motorcycles and bike enthusiasts.

California Car Cover was on board again in 2016 as a product sponsor. We provide the 30 Plushweave covers for the invited builder bikes each year.

I love to get to Born Free first thing in the morning to check out the invited builder bikes before the crowds show up. Once the people start to pour into Oak Canyon Ranch, it is definitely tough to admire all the amazing bikes that are on display. Born Free always features amazing custom cycles not just from SoCal, but from all over the world.

Sometimes the invited builders go above and beyond.

In addition to the invited builder showcase, there are 1,000s of other great motorcycles on the property. Many of the motorcycles that participated in the builder's showcase last year were on display this year too.

Thompson Cycles always has a few killer Triump motorcycles at the show.

This year, Born Free 8 featured a Wall of Death thanks in part to the event's title sponsor, Harley Davidson. The vintage Wall of Death is the original attraction from Coney Island in 1938. A few brave motorcyclists put on exhibition rides throughout the weekend.

Cruisin' for tips.

Another great Triumph from Thompson Cycles.

Seems like there were just as many bikes in the general parking lot as there were inside Born Free.
Thanks again to Chris, Grant, Mike and Holly for putting on another great show. California Car Cover was proud to be back in 2016 as an event sponsor.

Check back next week for more photos from the upcoming Goodguys Nationals in Columbus, Ohio.

Donut Derelicts & Russo & Steele Auction in Newport Beach

Donut Derelicts at Adam's Donuts in Huntington Beach, Ca.

Before the California Car Cover Crew members hit the road for some large events over Father's Day weekend, we were down in Newport Beach to check out some local car shows.

Since we were down in Newport Beach, Ca for the weekend, we had to kickoff Saturday morning with a stop at Donut Derelicts. The original SoCal "Cars and Coffee" get together takes place at a strip mall in Huntington Beach. Whenever we are down in Orange County we try to swing by there to see some classic cars and bump into some friends.

Clean and low Chevrolet.

Even though the weather was damp, there were still plenty of classics and hot rods to check out while enjoying a donut and coffee with some friends. Donut Derelicts attracts a nice mix of new muscle and classics from all over Orange County.

In the afternoon, it was off to Newport Dunes to check out the action at Russo and Steele's Newport Beach Auction. California Car Cover is one of their sponsors for 2016, so it was nice to get out and support the event. A few hundred hot rods, classics and exotics crossed the block over the weekend.

Clean 1957 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible

Rare Packard Woodie Sedan went across the block on Saturday afternoon.

We had a great time at the Russo and Steele Auction. We will look forward to seeing what goes up for sale at their Monterrey Auction later this summer.

Ready for some great car show photos? Check back often this month as we will be attending some marquee events such as the LA Roadsters Show, MSRA Back to the Fifties and Born Free Motorcycle Show.

Timeless Kustoms' Modern Muscle Cars from the June Catalog

The June California Car Cover catalog cover features a pair of beautiful muscle cars built by the team at Timeless Kustoms in Camarillo, Ca.  Jason Pecikonis and his team have become a well respected and recognized outfit that builds some outstanding muscle cars. From mild to wild, Timeless Kustoms does it all at their impressive shop and fabrication center.

One of the most recent builds at Timeless Kustoms is this 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. The Mustang features Detroit Speed Mustang front and rear suspension for optimal performance.

Under the hood is an aluminum 510 cid Shelby engine built by Timeless Kustoms. A T-56 transmission helps the driver run through the gears.

This 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle was also built by Timeless Kustoms and is owned by Mike Cavanah, a local California Car Cover customer. The Chevelle has been featured in a number of digital and print publications since Timeless Kustoms built it. The Chevelle is not just for show, as it is often seen making laps at Goodguys Auto Cross events.

The Chevelle is powered by an LS3 engine stroked to 416 plus an LS9 supercharger just in case that wasn't enough power.

The Chevelle is finished in PPG white paint with a custom front spoiler and signature red fender stripes.

Thank you to everyone at Timeless Kustoms for assisting us with our June catalog photo shoot. We had a great time at the facility and look forward to seeing what the next vehicle to debut is.
