Introducing Golden Shine Waterless Wash

This month we released the newest product in our Golden Shine car care line, Waterless Wash. This easy to use product will save you time and natural resources. Here are a few tips to get the best results with our newest cleaner.

For best results, use the Golden Shine Waterless Wash with a bundle of ultra soft microfiber towels, like our premium Quick Shine towels. Waterless Wash is a concentrated cleaner with lubricants to safely and easily remove light dust and dirt from your vehicle's finish. It is very important to use only clean towels when you use Waterless Wash to prevent micro scratching.

Waterless Wash is the perfect product to use when your vehicle is a little too dusty to use detail spray alone to maintain the vehicle in between traditional car washes. It is not recommended for vehicles that are heavily soiled.

To use, simply spray the product on a small section of your vehicle at a time and buff to a shine. Constantly flip the towel to keep the cleanest side of the towel in use. Rotate towels often to make sure you are always using a clean towel as well.

 Waterless Wash can be used on any of the vehicle's hard surfaces, such as paint and the chrome trim.

Waterless Wash is a concentrated cleaner with lubricant. It will clean and add a little shine to your vehicle. For best results, follow an application of Waterless Wash with our Golden Shine Quick Shine detail spray to give your paint a glossy shine.

Jim DeFrank & Sons Racing at Firebird Raceway 2013

This past weekend I headed out to Phoenix to spend the weekend with my family at the NHRA Lucas Oil Series event at Firebird Raceway in Chandler, AZ. It had been more than three years since I participated in a NHRA drag racing event, so I brought my camera along to document the weekend.

There is a lot of pressure being in the Jim DeFrank & Sons racing pit area. My brother, Jimmy, is the reigning NHRA Super Stock national champion. It was his 4th national title in the Super Stock category. I never won a national championship while driving, so I had to try and not embarrass him or the team while I was out there over the weekend.

I drove Jimmy' s 1969 Chevy Camaro in the Stock Eliminator category at the race. The big block Camaro ran in the 10.40s at 127 mph over the weekend. It is a fun car to drive and runs great.

Jimmy and his crew chief, Davey Allison, performed some routine maintenance on Jimmy's Chevy Cobalt during qualifying. The Chevy Cobalt goes down the quarter mile in the high 8 second range at over 150 mph. I offered to drive the vehicle for Jimmy at the race, but he quickly declined for some reason.

What made the weekend unique was that NHRA decided to host two divisional events in one weekend. Basically, one eliminator was run on Thursday & Friday and another one on Saturday & Sunday. It gave racers two chances to win while only making one trip to Arizona. Jimmy competed in two categories at the first event and sat out in both of the second. I raced the Camaro at the second event. Above is a photo of Jimmy racing the Camaro during the first race of the weekend. He made it to the fifth round of eliminations before losing a close race.

 After eliminations closed at the first race, the team discovered a few problems with Jimmy's Chevy Cobalt and decided to skip the second race. The team's next event is not until April, so it will give Jim DeFrank & Sons Racing plenty of time to get the car in order.

I did not fair as well as Jimmy did in the first race, but I was able to make it until the third round of eliminations. It was a fun few days at the track and had a great time catching up with our old friends. We will see what happens when I get out on the track next time...

Pure Vision's Martini Mustang T-5R

For our March 2013 California Car Cover catalog we featured the Martini Mustang T-5R. You might recognize the vehicle from our video and photo coverage at last year's SEMA Show. It is an impressive vehicle and we were glad that Steve Strope and the staff at Pure Vision could participate in another catalog photo shoot.

Steve and the staff at Pure Vision build amazing performance muscle cars. In most cases, with the exception of custom wheels, their vehicles have a tradition exterior. But underneath is where you find the signature style of Steve and Pure Vision. The Martini Mustang is no exception.

The Martini Mustang was inspired by European road racing of the 1960's. The T-5R is Pure Vision's answer to what if Ford sent a pure road racing Mustang to Europe during that time period? The Martini Mustang features many lightweight components and performance upgrades all commonly find in the 60's not today. The body of the Martini Mustang is fiberglass and all windows and glass were replaced with plexiglass.

The interior was designed for road racing. Sport seats, timers and toggle switches highlight the dash cluster. Interior work was completed by Pure Vision and Eric Thorsen Upholstery. The driver runs through the gears using a lightweight CR Racing 4-speed transmission.

The Martini Mustang is powered by a Ford Indy style Ed Pink racing engine. The 300 c.i. 4-cam engine features an aluminum block and fuel injection.
