Winter Wonderland Catalog Featuring the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454
Our friend and customer Richard Daniels, of Oxnard, Ca, brought his recently restored 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle to one of our California Car Cover holiday photo shoots. The Chevelle has cranberry red paint with black strips and a black soft top.
The 1970 Chevelle SS 454 uses Global West Suspension and 4-wheel disc brakes. |
Interior highlights include power windows and locks, plus a power convertible top. The upholstery was refinished just like the original interior. It still utilizes the factory tachometer and gauges. |
Under the hood is a 502 550hp engine. |
Richard wanted to especially thank Frank Saenz for his assistance with this project.

6th Annual Galpin Ford Car Show in Van Nuys, Ca 2017
Custom Ford Mustangs lined up out front of Galpin Auto Sports |
The usual classic car show took place at Galpin Auto Sports and Galpin Ford. 100's of custom hot rods, classic and lowriders were parked in and around the Galpin Ford parking lots.
Galpin Premier hosted local Porsche and exotic owners. Patrons were able to see a handful of notable European cars on display at their luxurious showroom.
Galpin Mazda hosted a group of vintage Japanese car owners. It was great to see a nice collection of classic Mazda, Nissan and Honda vehicles.
Galpin Volkswagen lined up a great group of classic Volkswagen Beetles and Buses.
Plenty of the Galpin Ford sponsored race cars from the past were on display along Roscoe Blvd.
The main lot along Roscoe Blvd had plenty of cars and trucks to see. |
The Galpin Auto Collection was open to the public. It showcased a number of their restored Ed Roth customs, plus a number of historic classic cars from the Petersen Museum.
Thank you to everyone at Galpin Ford and Galpin Auto Sports for the hospitality. We look forward to the event again in 2018. To see where the California Car Cover team is going to be next, please visit our website.

September 16th Saturday Social at California Car Cover
This past Saturday was the September edition of our increasingly popular Saturday Social events. Our take on the Cars and Coffee morning car shows attracts a number of hot rods, cool customs and classics to California Car Cover.
Local customers and friends cruise over to CCC from 8am-11am on select Saturdays. The events are free to attend and open to all makes of custom cars. We host the coffee and donuts and our customers bring out the eye candy. Each event features a prize raffle with proceeds benefiting a local charity.

Ventura Nationals Custom Car Show 2017 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds
Before heading to the beach on Labor Day we always spend Saturday morning up in Ventura for the annual Ventura Nationals car show. The car show has become a weekend event including a Friday night cruise and art show, plus Sunday reliability run and BBQ. We always look forward to cruising up the 101 on Saturday morning to check out some killer customs and hot rods.
A big draw for the past few years has been the Lost Angels Children's Project giveaway car. Each year, the Ventura Nationals promotes a custom car build and raffle to benefit the Lost Angels. The charity promotes art and automobile restoration to at-risk teens. This year's custom car was this Chevy Apache pickup that someone drove home on Saturday night. |

Not sure custom cars filled the fairgrounds. Plenty of custom built motorcycles were on display too. |
